Editor's Notes, Quotes, and Recommendations...

Welcome to our web site! Browse through it at your leisure. Read Pastor Barb's welcome, her sermons, and her newsletters. Shannon has compiled articles called "Jottings" which are delightful and insightful. There are current articles from the Presbyterian Church (USA) that will inform and educate. For daily devotions, check out the lectionary readings in the left-hand column. Added recently, the Photo Gallery has pictures from this summer's picnic.

The Upper Room is a wonderful daily devotional that helps one to focus on scripture. This and other useful links are always available through the "Studies and Devotionals" in the main menu under "Features".

"Goals"

by Shannon Pederson

I once heard an executive of a large corporation issue this challenge:  “I hope you all fail,” he said to all of us eager to go out and conquer the world.  “Because, if you don’t, you haven’t set your goals high enough.”

You can get by without setting goals.  Many people do.  They fall into a routine, and inertia carries them through life.  They never suffer great disappointments in their work, but they never get very far along the career path, either.  Then, before they know it, it’s all over, and they realize that they could have accomplished so much more.

Opportunities to Grow

Presbyterian Camp on Okoboji

Camp Okoboji

The Presbyterian Camp seeks to be a sacred space for all to experience God and be a center for Presbyterian Christianity. We are located on Miller's Bay of gorgeous West Lake Okoboji by water and Highway 86 by land. It is our genuine belief that God calls all his children, both young and old, to retreat to a quiet place and be ministered to by his Holy Spirit. We hope that you and your family will find peace on lakeshore and tranquility among the trees. Join us in our ministry...

From Presbyterian Church, USA

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), with denominational offices in Louisville, Kentucky, has approximately 2.3 million members, more than 10,000 congregations and 14,000 ordained and active ministers.

Presbyterians trace their history to the 16th century and the Protestant Reformation. Our heritage, and much of what we believe, began with John Calvin (1509-1564), whose writings crystallized much of the Reformed thinking that came before him.
